1 This software provides support for the Tag Image File
2 Format (TIFF), a widely used format for storing image
3 data.
4 The latest version of the TIFF specification is
5 available on-line in several different formats, as are
6 a number of Technical Notes (TTN's).
8 Included in this software distribution is a library,
9 libtiff, for reading and writing TIFF, a small
10 collection of tools for doing simple manipulations of
11 TIFF images on UNIX systems, and documentation on the
12 library and tools.
13 A small assortment of TIFF-related software for UNIX
14 that has been contributed by others is also included.
16 The library, along with associated tool programs,
17 should handle most of your needs for reading and
18 writing TIFF images on 32- and 64-bit machines.
